Most PNG to STL conversions complete in under 30 seconds. Conversion time depends on file size and mesh complexity. Very large files or models with high polygon counts may take slightly longer. If processing takes more than a few minutes, try reducing the polygon count before uploading.

Before converting a PNG file to STL, keep three things in mind: First, PNG often stores transparency — a clean transparent background isolates your subject and gives the AI a clearer silhouette to work from. Second, check the STL file before printing in your slicer — wall thickness, scale, and closed geometry. Third, STL does not preserve colors, materials, or textures — for colored 3D assets, formats like GLB are better suited.

Format-specific features that have no equivalent in STL will be approximated or omitted.
