A samurai warrior, clanless and masterless. He is dressed in simple, worn peasant-style travel clothes - dark, neutral tones, possibly patched or faded. A wide, woven straw hat "kasa" is deeply pulled down, obscuring his gaze and partially hiding his features. Strands of dark, tangled hair are visible from under the hat. A simple but functional sword in its scabbard is slung across his back. A second sword (wakizashi) is tucked into his belt. He carries a wooden staff or walking stick.
