The surface of the alienhead is birch, rough wooden in form but rough with time, featuring a rich mix of white birch-bark and structures of black lenticles on the surface spread unevenly across the birch-bark. In raised areas, the original white bark through, slightly polished from touch or erosion. Recessed lines and details are darker, with deeper dark dirt settled in fine crevices. Small pitting and subtle streaks from weather exposure give the surface a natural, aged look. The overall surface is matte, with occasional soft highlights where the bark is smooth.
