The surfaces are gritty and abrasive, some displaying remnants of mortar and deep cracks, while others are scoured smooth by weather. Interspersed are splintered, aged oak timbers, their ends charred and splintered, alongside rusted, pitted iron fittings—hinges, nails, and reinforcement bars—twisted into grotesque shapes.
