An unsettling relic, presented as a relief sculpture of a skull and crossbones on a square, irregularly shaped base. The base is an ancient, metallic-looking panel, severely rusted and corroded, with a rough, flaking texture and a dull, earthy brown and grey coloration. A central, smooth, pale bone-white skull with hollow eyes and a grimace is flanked by two solid, wooden bone-like cross beams. All elements are intricately cinched together by thick, braided, tan rope, tightly knotted, creating a visual and tactile sense of decay and binding.
