12 Rules for Better Text to 3D Prompts
1. Put key details first
The earliest words in your prompt carry the most weight. Lead with the subject, not with mood words.
2. Describe one object, not a scene
One prompt, one mesh. A wizard tower works. A wizard tower on a cliff at sunset with birds fights itself.
3. Stick to 3 to 6 core details
Past six key details, extra words start confusing the model instead of guiding it.
4. Name real materials
Shiny gold with elaborate styling beats fancy. Physical materials render. Adjectives do not.
5. Use style references
In the style of Pixar or world of warcraft style, hand painted anchors the whole model to a known look in three words.
6. State technical constraints
If you need low-poly, game-ready, or a face budget like 5000 faces, say so in the prompt. The model cannot guess your pipeline.
7. Cut empty adjectives
Amazing, epic, and beautiful carry zero geometry information. Delete them and spend the words on materials.

8. Don't stack materials
Stone and wood and metal and glass on one object gives the texture engine four ways to disagree with itself. Pick one dominant material, maybe two.
9. Avoid non-physical elements
Smoke, glitter, and magic energy describe effects, not surfaces. In our experience they tend to produce floating mesh fragments. If you want a magical look, put it in the material instead: glowing runes carved into stone.
10. Write exclusions into the prompt
Meshy has no separate negative prompt field. If you want something gone, say it in the main prompt: no background elements, without floating particles, no text or labels.
11. Specify the pose for characters
Characters you plan to rig or animate should be generated in T-pose or A-pose. It saves a cleanup round before auto-rigging.
12. Iterate: generate, refine, adjust
