Sylvanus
In the primeval depths of Aethelgard—a forest untouched by sunlit skies for millennia—trees do not die; they simply dream. When an ancient Heartwood Oak fell after three centuries of silent observation, its consciousness did not fade. Instead, the forest floor’s bioluminescent fungal networks (the Mycelium Core) wove through its petrified remains, binding the hardened bark, mineralized roots, and ancient sap into a living, predatory form. Thus, Sylvanus was born: not from flesh and blood, but from petrified timber, ancient soil, and radiant subterranean energy.
Sylvanus does not form bonds with warriors or kings, but with the quiet protectors of the wild: naturalists, lost children, and lonely forest cartographers.
To his chosen companion, Sylvanus is an unyielding guardian. During cold wilderness nights, his wooden plates shift slightly open, releasing a gentle radiator-like warmth powered by his glowing core and burning amber resin. His footsteps produce no sound on dry leaves.
