- Create Achilles’ Shield from Homer’s Iliad, Book 18, as a thin, shallow-convex ancient Greek round shield with a strong raised rim and subtle central boss. Use low-bas-relief carved closely into the surface, never deep relief or freestanding sculpture. Include simplified bold scenes: central sun, moon, stars, mountains and sea; a peaceful couple with musician; three advancing warriors and one fallen soldier; a plowman with two oxen, wheat and grapevine; two lions attacking a bull; and large Oceanus waves around the rim. Use broad monumental forms, clean silhouettes, minimal texture, few undercuts, and thick FDM-safe details. Must read as a shield, not a plaque, coin, or diorama.
