A large, very rotund bumblebee, completely covered in a dense, shaggy coat of soft, coarse fur, primarily black with a thick band of bright yellow around its broad thorax. Its fuzzy appearance makes it seem tactile and plush. It has small, clear, almost invisible wings that seem disproportionate to its size, and stocky, dark legs. Two small, dark antennae extend from its fuzzy head.
