Meshy is a cloud AI 3D platform that covers the whole pipeline in one browser tab: generate from text or image, texture with PBR maps, auto-rig characters, animate with 600+ presets, and export to Unity, Unreal, Blender, Maya, Godot, Roblox, or a 3D slicer. Choose Rodin if: You're a modeler who wants the densest, cleanest quad geometry to sculpt or retopologize yourself, and you'll handle rigging and engine integration downstream.

The same gap, in numbers
The repair-pass figure is Hyper3D's own advice, not our estimate: their 3D-printing FAQ says to "plan for one pass" and to run a voxel remesh when output isn't watertight. Their Mesh Editor is free and needs no login, so the cost is a step in the workflow, not a fee.
Meshy converts single images or multi-view photos into fully textured, PBR-ready models — and then lets you rig, animate, and export them without leaving the workspace. Rodin also does image-to-3D well, taking up to 5 reference images, but it stops at the textured mesh.

Meshy auto-rigs humanoid and quadruped characters and ships 600+ preset motions — walk cycles, attacks, idles, emotes — then exports a rigged FBX straight to Unity, Unreal, Godot, or Roblox. Rodin can pose a character in T- or A-pose, but its own animation FAQ says the models do not come rigged: no skeleton, no skin weights, no motion library.
Meshy flags thin walls and floating shells, auto-repairs non-manifold geometry, auto-splits oversized models, and sends the result to Bambu Studio in one click on paid plans — a 97% slicer pass rate, with STL/OBJ/3MF that drops into OrcaSlicer, Cura, or Creality Print. Rodin's generation API exports GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL, and USDZ and gives you a free Mesh Editor to remesh in, but that repair pass is a manual step you run yourself.

Type a description and get a fully textured PBR model in about a minute, in styles from realistic to cartoon, low poly, and voxel — then rig, animate, or send it straight to a slicer without leaving the tab. Rodin generates from text prompts and publishes its own style presets too, but stops at the textured mesh.
Meshy generates full PBR maps — Albedo, Normal, Roughness, and Metallic, up to 8K — on any mesh, including OBJ, FBX, and GLB files you didn't create in Meshy. Rodin's texturing is tied to its own generation pipeline, with no documented flow for retexturing uploaded geometry.
